To those members who have already been accepted into Windsonde, this may not be pertinent to you but is worth a read-over. For those desiring to apply to Windsonde, please re-read the newly updated Rules & How to Join Information.

We've clarified some things that we seem to see constantly in people's applications. Hopefully this will be more helpful to those looking to apply :)

(like the fact that we hate the grass brush. Please do not ever use it to make grass. Ever. Just like you would never use the lens flare to make a light source, right? Right.)

If you have questions, please note the group.

ps. it's totally okay to draw lines in random places all over the animal's body, right? I've seen other people do it so I know that it always makes it look like I know exactly where all the muscles are.

You know, I've always liked this comm in a vague kind of way, but now ... you had me at "we hate the grass brush" <3

I think it would be helpful if there were examples of good and bad for uses of the grass brush/smudge tool/blur tool/dodge/burn/etc. I use smudge quite frequently and heavily for many different purposes and I've even relied on the grass brush a few times, lol. Just thought I'd throw in a suggestion to minimize confusion; I can picture exactly what you want to avoid with your standards but there are a lot of handy photoshop filters and tools that people shouldn't be afraid to use here. Can they look professional? Yes. Does it require effort to blend seamlessly with the background? Absolutely. Just a thought...

gosh this makes no sense
all blades of grass look alike
/always/
I know they point differently so that's why you rotate the brush, duh

the staff's clearly just racist against my grass-blade clone army. :'(

If this is about the last challenge I put up, I didn't use the grass brush. I made that is Sai which, as far as I know, doesn't have a grass brush. Just wanted to clarify that C:

If not, then. OK. Thanks for the heads up. :D

This is not, as I said already, generally pertinent to our current members. It's more for applicants looking to join. If your work is getting regularly accepted by us into the group, you don't have to worry.

No worries - we don't rush here. The point is to challenge yourself and take time to create beautiful, detailed images.

I dunno, gaiz. I don't think I know what you're talking about unless you show me. I need an example of Bailiwick art dodge to burn hell and blurred up in this grass brush with a lens flare.
