Gryphons may switch Aeries (except for Tookie Islanders who always remain Tookie Islanders).  This can be done once a gryphon has reached adulthood, as many times as you like.  However, there are politics and rights-of-passage involved in switching aeries.  Will your new aerie want you there? How will your old aerie handle it? Etc.  For challenges, please see below:

Leaving
:pointr:When submitting challenges please title your deviation L(for leaving)-[character name]-[rank]-[challenge #].  For example, L-Binky-Adult-1.  Then submit your deviation to the Rank Challenges gallery folder.
:pointr: Do not combine challenges, they must be done individually.
:pointr: You must complete the challenges in order!
    :bulletblue:Grandesque
      1. What? Who are you, again? Why are you bothering us in the middle of our supper? What? Speak up! Oh, you want to leave. Hmm, well, go on about it, then. Leave something nice in the treasury before you go. Honestly, who lets these people in here? We are far too busy to deal with this sort of nonsense.

    :bulletred:Skrekrill
      1. So you're leaving, eh? Perhaps to those ridiculous moonbrained Twistoults? Or, to our sworn enemies...those lazy, fat, rich dopes...the Grandesque? Well you're not getting out of it without some scars. You swore loyalty to the Queen and you ought to be glad the Queen doesn't kill you for treason outright. As it is...fight the Queen's Gobhlan in order to be "relieved" from Skrekrill. If you lose, you must stay for more punishment. If you fight them off...well, we'd better not see you again.

    :bulletgreen:Twistoult
      1. You want to leave us?  Well, farewell child, we are sad that you are leaving, but happy that you are following your own path in life.  Please, attend a farewell bonfire where Queen Tulkiina herself will present you with a leather pouch of various trinkets and herbs important to the Twistoult.

Joining
:pointr:When submitting challenges please title your deviation J(for joining)-[character name]-[rank]-[challenge #].  For example, J-Binky-Final Stage-1.  Then submit your deviation to the Rank Challenges gallery folder.
:pointr: Do not combine challenges, they must be done individually.
:pointr: You must complete the challenges in order!
    :bulletblue:Grandesque
      1. Yes, yes, welcome to Grandesque, dear. I suppose it isn't your fault that you were born in one of the other aeries, but it's good of you to correct the mistake. Go to the south and see if you can't find us something pretty at the trading post. Something from the humans, naturally. Oh, no, you'll have to spend your own money on it. Goodness, I should think that would have been obvious.

    :bulletred:Skrekrill
      1. Welcome to Skrekrill, friend. Your first act of entry is to swear loyalty to Queen Maud. You will then have to prove your worth in order to be placed in a clan. You must appease the Queen by running one of two extremely messy missions for him. You must either risk life and limb freeing a fellow Skrekrill from imprisonment in Grandesque...or go to Twistoult and kidnap a powerful shaman for Queen Maud's relentless, mad quest to become fully human.

    :bulletgreen:Twistoult
      1. So you want to join Twistoult?  We would love to have you child!  However, to prove that you are truly committed to our ways you need to make or collect an offering to the god Balodius and join a clan.  Learn about god Balodius and the aspect that represents your clan.  Can you pick a suitable offering before your clan initiation ceremony?

I have another question about this. . . ;)

If a character goes through the motions of leaving, but doesn't actually end up leaving (for various and sundry reasons), would that drawing go under challenges or various art, since it doesn't result in the character actually leaving the aerie, but exists primarily for character and story development. . .?

Been thinking on this. I think the drawings depicting the "going to leave" should go under challenges, but the drawing of them not (showing that they've changed their mind or whatever you have planned) should go under various art.

If our griff intends to change aeries as an adult, do they have to finish all the adult challenges first, or can 'leaving' and 'joining' be inserted at any point? Do we then switch to the other aerie challenges in the same point, or start over?

I have no idea what my plans are yet, but I just wanted to clarify. :XD: Thanks!

Any time after you have reached adulthood (finished all the young gryphon challenges). When you switch you are at the "same point" as you were in the previous aerie.

Ooooh! I don't think I'd see my gryph changing aeries anytime soon, but it's super neat that you guys worked up a way of changing things, in case we want to!
